Control Your Clutter.

Clutter is something that we all have to deal with from time to time.

But don’t let it run your life. These tips are a great place to start for controlling the clutter in your home.

When looking for more storage space, don’t forget the ceiling. This simple sliding storage system adds an abundance of storage to an otherwise unused area. Source

Keep those large toys off the floor by hanging them in the garage or inside a large closet. Source

Attach jars to the underside of shelves for storing small items. Use them in the garage for nuts and bolts, the craft room for buttons and beads, the kids room for small toys, and the laundry room for clothes pins. Source

A simple dollar store basket and a couple command hooks can be used in almost every area of your home. Here are a few ideas I cam up with. Please feel free to leave your own ideas in the comments below. Source

  • Hang them on the inside of your closet door to hold scarves, gloves, belts hats, and lingerie.
  • Place a couple in your pantry to corral snacks, powder drinks, chips, and crackers.
  • Use one under the bathroom sink to hold rubber gloves and other cleaning items, extra hand towels, or the kids bath toys.
  • A few on the wall in the garage would be perfect for small garden tools, tape and wire, smaller sport accessories (goggles, cleats, etc…)
  • Hang one up in the laundry room to hold dryer sheets or stain removers.

When looking for storage options don’t forget about rolling storage. The cart in the photo acts as a mobile office that can be stored in a closet or pushed into a corner to make room for guests. Rolling carts can also be used for storing your mixer and baking items. Just roll it to the counter when you need to bake. Source

Don’t forget about the corners. This giant lazy susan makes it easy to find what you are looking for. Source

  2. love all of them..love the dollar store basket and command hooks for the playroom ..for books…stuffed animals etc..thanks so much

  3. When my daughter was a baby, I repurposed her baby food jars by attaching them to the underside of a shelf. It was a great way to store small craft items, like pins and separate buttons by color, etc.

  4. These are some really useful storage solutions that are ideal for all areas around the house. I personally have utilized a lot of my wall space already, using shelves and racks and I am almost out of ideas to maximize storage space. However, after viewing this article, now I can try taking advantage of my ceiling space now to create storage space and not forgetting the various corners of the house.
