  1. Thanks so much for making this complete list. I just pinned it. I had plans to make the laundry soap this week but my store was out of one of the ingredients. I'll have to try next week. I'll let you know how it turns out.

  2. Oh, I forgot to mention that your link for the laundry soap isn't working. šŸ™‚

  3. I am pinning this right now….will come back to it and make some of these wonderful products. Thanks for a great post!

  4. I pinned it too. To many useful recipes to allow to get lost before I have a chance to try some of them!

  5. These are all great ideas. I have made and continue to make several…laundry detergent, liquid soap, and baby wipes.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Blessings,
    Carrie

  6. What a great round-up…I'd so love to try to make more of these things in this new year!

Thanks for linking to "20 Below Thursday"! šŸ™‚

  7. I have on my blog how to make liquid fabric softener last longer.
Its very simple. You just buy your favorite fabric softener, a 5 gallon bucket. You then dump the fabric softener into the bucket. Fill the fabric softener bottle twice with water and dump into the bucket.
You also get a downy ball and fill the ball to the line with your mixture.
Just a way to save more money. I have had luck with it, and my clothes still smell fresh!
I have a family of 4 (With one I cant use fabric softener on cause he has exema) and this 5 gallon bucket of softener last me 3 months.
I also make my own laundry detergant. Which I seen you had posted the instruction to. It will last my family of 4 (With one I cant use on due to his exema) 2 to 3 months. Very cheap and easy to make. I really like enjoy making this stuff. Anything to save me money!!

  8. I saw your link over at DIY by design. I have made several of these products. I have made the liquid soap, the laundry detergent, the room spray, lip balm, and the baby wipes. I have been please with the outcome of all of them. I have been especially happy with the baby wipes. I am the director of a preschool and we use the wipes everyday. It has saved us a ton of money this year. I will be following you. Looks like you have many good ideas I would like to try.

  9. I would imagine that the savings on these products is tremendous. Thanks for sharing your post on BeColorful.

  10. I've made the makeup remover and still use it. Already had all the stuff and I found it on pinterest just as my old bottle ran out.

  11. i might sound stupid.. but i don't know where the recipes are.. do i just click the pictures? because them it just takes me to a larger picture? please help

  12. Love your post, Im going to go through it for Ideas on what else I can make, the laundry soap can be made with 3 bars of Ivory for sensetive skin, and I'm not a fan of the Zote/Fars Naptha smell anyways. also I add a large bottle of the purex fabric crystals to mine to get the smell I do like.

I also have a soap scum remover that works wonders!

1 part hot Vinegar (about a minute in Microwave)
1 part BLUE dawn dish soap

Mix the 2 in a spray bottle and spray on shower. leave on at least 1 hour longer if you can stand the smell. soap scum comes right off.
**if u can't stand the smell add some lemon juice to mix to neutralize smell a little šŸ™‚

  13. Best deodorant EVER! Coconut oil and baking soda… yes, it's that easy! I put about a cup of coconut oil to a tablespoon of baking soda. Put in a container like a margarine tub and just scoop out and smooth on your pits. just stir it up so that it is mixed well and you don't have to melt anything or buy weird ingredients that are expensive… and it smells yummy! We own a fitness studio and my hubby and I use this exclusively and haven't had a problem ever. It makes me laugh because most mornings when I put it on my almost 2 year old asks for some and then promptly eats it šŸ™‚

  14. I have made my own laundry soap, fabric softner, dishwasher soap, lip glosses, potpourri, candle melts, orange cleaner, vicks shower disks, body scrub…. I am LOVING all of the recipes that I find for homemade items! I'm going to be making vanilla extract for holiday gifts as well!

  15. It's a great idea to make your own products!!

But please be careful what products you're using to create said homemade items!

Johnson & Johnson and arm & hammer both test on animals!!

Olive oil makes GREAT makeup remover.
There are lists of who tests on animals, and companies who are dedicated to not!! You can go on the PETA website to learn more!

  16. I have used the laundry detergent recipe, needs a laundry booster to brighten whites and bright clothes. It last a really long time. I love the fabric softener. I use sponges of different colors to let me know which ones have been soaking longer. The sponges that have been soaking longer are the ones I use first. Awesome web site !!!!

  18. I like using a mixture of water, local honey, and pure, freshly ground cinnamon as a mouthwash. What i do is i take about 2 Tbs of freshly ground cinnamon and let it steep in about 1/2 cup of boiled water for as long as it takes for the water to become lukewarm (this will make 2-3 servings). When it's cool enough i will add about 2Tbs of local, raw honey and stir until it's disolved. Then i just put a little in my mouth and gargle and swish for as long as i can stand it (usually about a minute or so. The longer the better). Repeat after every time you brush. This REALLY helps with fighting bad breath. I really like this other mouthwash! I hope to incorperate into my reg routine!
