Personalized Child’s Wash Cloth

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Gecko Tech for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you heard of Gecko Tech®?

Gecko Tech® hooks can be used again and again! Gecko Tech® hooks are reusable products, made using revolutionary microsuction synthetic rubber technology that allows them to be used again and again! They do not damage the surface they are applied to, and they remove cleanly (ideal for apartment dwellers!). They can be used on plasterboard, tile, laminate, glass, stainless steel and any other smooth, hard nonporous surface.

The best part about Gecko Tech Reusable Hooks is that you don’t have to waste your money buying sticky tabs whenever you want to move or replace a hook. The microsuction synthetic rubber technology is permanently attached to the hook so you can move your hooks around as many times as you want without ever buying any additional products.

I decided that these were the perfect solution to the problem I have been having with the girls’ wash cloths. The girls use their wash cloths to wash their face every morning when they wake up and again before bed. A while back I installed this hook to the side of our over-the-toilet organizer for them to hang their wash cloths on.

I thought it was a good idea at the time but I soon realized that the only way the girls could reach it was to climb up on he toilet. Most of the time they just tossed the cloth at the hook in hopes that it would land over the hook. However, more often than not, their wash cloths would end up on the floor next to the toilet. Ewww!!

I’ve searched home depot for hand towel holders but I’m not to fond of the ones that sit on the counter (Please tell me I’m not the only one who likes my counters clear of all clutter.) and I don’t want to be drilling holes into the wall since we may be moving soon. When I discovered Gecko Tech® hooks I knew that they were the answer to my solution.

First I sewed a ribbon loop onto each cloth. This makes it so much easier for the girls to hang on the hook.

Then I decided to add the girls’ initials to their cloths so that they wouldn’t fight over which cloth was who’s.

Using a simple font I printed of the initials and then traced them onto the back side of the fabric. (Be sure to flip the letter over before you trace it.)

Once the letter was cut out I used the zig zag option on my sewing machine to sew the letter to the corner of the cloth.

And there you have it… A personalized wash cloth.

Now it’s time to hang them up. I attached the hooks to the sides of the mirror then asked the girls to hang up their new wash cloths to make sure that their short little arms could reach. They were perfect.

I decided to test out the strength of the hooks so I gave them a good tug. They didn’t budge! So I tugged them harder and again, they did not budge. Then I began to worry that I may never get them off. However, I simply peeled back a corner and the hook popped right off!! It’s amazing!! These things are like magic!

Another small project that I was able to do with these amazing hooks was organize my necklaces. I just placed a few hooks along the top right side of my bathroom mirror, hung my necklaces and I was done. It could not have been any simpler.

I started thinking of all the other possibilities for these hooks and here are a few I came up with.

  • Hang a wreath on your front door. Since they are waterproof you never have to worry about them falling off or getting ruined in the rain.
  • Hang buntings and banners over mirrors. I have a large mirror in our entry way that I often decorate for the seasons. It will be so much easier to hang up my buntings with these instead of taping them up like I usually do.
  • On the side of a nightstand. Hang items within easy reach such as reading glasses, sleep mask, or even a small flash light. No more searching around in the dark for them.
  • Hang wash cloths in the tub or shower. Perfect for kids who are not tall enough to reach the shower caddy.
  • Hang a calendar on the side of your fridge. I currently use magnets to hold mine up but it is fairly heavy so it often falls down. I am going to be switching out my magnets for Gecko Tech® hooks very soon.

What about you? What would you use Gecko Tech® hooks for? I would love to hear about your projects or organizing ideas you would use with Gecko Tech® hooks.
